You might say this thread has been written many times, but i couldn't figure the answer out by reviewing them all. Obviously the 2004 a6 s-line has 265 hp vs the 250 of the regular 2.7t c5 a6. Some said it was the ECU and some said it was some slight turbo variation (which also made it so that u cant simply bolt on K04's to an s-line).

Audi’s renowned Quattro all-wheel-drive system comes standard on the A6, with three available trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Audi sells the trims mentioned above in 261-hp and 335-hp powertrains, with the latter costing about $5,000 extra. Pricing starts around $55,000 for the Premium trim.

The A6 and A6 Avant Black Edition models are available now priced from £44,635 for the 2.0-litre turbocharged 40 TDI saloon – a £2,340 premium over the equivalent S-Line model. Just got back after an hour test drive in an A4 143 TDI S Line with S Suspension, 18" wheels. After almost 7 continuous years of BMW ownership in 4 vehicles, the S Line is considerably better. I took the car around where I live, rural country roads, speedbumps, huge potholes, off camber roads and uneven surfaces, and was pleasantly surprised. Quote: Originally Posted by ACSGP. I may be imagining things but the S-line seems to drive "tighter", ie sportier and the NON-S-line seems to be more soft and bouncy. I like the S-line "feel". Again, it may be my imagination. I wonder if the suspension is a little tighter or not or if the lower (10mm) can make that much difference. Of course, with the air suspension you may be Manufacturer: Audi: Model: A6: Specification: A6 50 Saloon quattro 2.0Te 17.9kWh 299 SS S line ST7 21MY: Model Year: 0.00: Annual VED (Road tax) £0: BIK List Price

This demand led Audi to create the S line trim level, which combines the sportier look and feel of the S models with ‘regular’ petrol and diesel engines that cost less to run. The S line package was introduced in 2005 on the A4 and A6 and within a few years it was available across much of the Audi range. It became such a hit with buyers
The A6 is powered by a 2.8-litre alloy naturally-aspirated V6 that has direct injection and a variable valve timing and lift system to make the most of the premium 95RON unleaded. The result is 150kW (a 12kW loss over the old 2.8) and 280Nm, which doesn't sound like much for a 1680kg sedan. But it's enough and thanks to a start-stop fuel saving

Verdict The S line trim level is a hugely popular option in the Audi range for a reason. On the A6 it does the usual job of noticeably shifting the car’s looks in a sporty direction and
